Abstract

Mortality conditions are important starting points for evaluation of population health.
The health of population can be quantified by the development of Life Expectancy at
Birth, age-specific death rate and mainly causes of death from a demographic
perspective. The article deals with mortality of Slovak population using basic
(age-specific death rate and causes of death) and specific mortality indicators (Years of Life Lost).
