Abstract

The paper deals with the possibilities of application of network analysis using commuting flows to work in the municipalities in the Trenčín Region during 2001 and 2011. The main focus is to analyse the changes in the spatial pattern of commuting flows to work that are linked to the changes in the economic structure of municipalities. We will try to explain the changes of the size of the local economy of municipalities according to data on commuting in-flows and out-flows to work, employment in the place of residence and unemployment.
