Abstract

The 2021 Population and Housing Census in Slovakia was innovative in many ways,and it was also taken into account by the promotional and communication campaign,
which can be considered the most extensive in the census history. The paper focuses on the communication and promotion campaign for the population census, the main
goal of which was to motivate the population to a voluntary enumeration with the entry of accurate and true data. The article informs the reader about the preparation
of the campaign, its goals and phases. It describes the promotion and communication forms and tools, the frequency of the campaign, media monitoring and evaluates the impact and results of the campaign.
