Abstract

Population development in Slovakia will bring substantial changes in the number and especially in the age structure of the population in the coming decades. Subsequently, these changes will have a significant and long-term impact on the functioning of the society. This will mostly concern areas directly linked to the population – the labor market, social insurance, health care and social services. The society should adequately and in a timely manner respond to demographic challenges.
