Abstract

The aim of the article is to analyse the direct impact of demographic events of enterprises such as their birth and death on employment in active enterprises in the SR between 2007-2013 and to perform regional comparisons among individual regions of the SR. For the purpose of cross-sectional and longitudinal comparison the following relative rates are used in the article: employment share of enterprise births and employment share of enterprise deaths. Databases provided by the Statistical Office of the SR were used for performing of our own analyses. A special attention was paid to the quantification of the impact of the temporal and the spatial dimension on the employment share of enterprise births and the employment share of enterprise deaths using the GLM procedure in SAS Enterprise Guide application. This procedure smartly connects the multivariate analysis of variance and regression analysis. As a result, we were able to better uncover and quantify regional disparities and differences in individual years of the reference period.
