Abstract

Charts, diagrams, plots are the basic elements of almost all data analyses. Graphical visualizations (data visualization) are needed at all stages of data processing, from the initial data evaluation to a design of the appropriate statistical model of the data being considered, including diagnostics of the selected statistical model. They reveal patterns, differences, and uncertainties that are not evident in the tabular output. The graphics raise questions stimulating deeper investigation, and add visual clarity and rich content to reports and presentations. The obtained graphical outputs are often a great help for statisticians when discussing the results of data analysis with nonstatisticians such as psychologists, sociologists, psychiatrists and others, whose decision-making is based on empirical records of the accumulated data. One of the most suitable products for presenting the results of data analysis, which provides various tools for creating statistical graphics, is the SAS programming system.
