Abstract
Population ageing is a typical feature of the population development in most countries of the world. This process is specific in each population – regarding the timing of its onset, progress of the interaction mechanism of factors modifying the process of population ageing. From a global perspective, the most intense development of this process is recorded in the European population. The aim of this study was to analyze ageing trends in the V4 countries from 1980 to 2012. Attention was focused on the study of changes in population age structure and analysis of the interaction mechanism of the main demographic processes (fertility, mortality and migration) in the process of population ageing. We have identified and quantified the impact of three demographic processes on population aging of the V4 countries during 1980-2012.
