Abstract

This paper identifies the trends in the development of household structure development in Slovak Republic during the intercensal period 1961-2011. It concentrates on the development in two household types: census and jointly managed. It analyses the population and housing census supplemented with the EU SILC analysis results enabling international comparison. The analysis attempts to explain the identified changes through selected basic demographic processes and other wider connections with family, partnership and parenthood.
