Abstract
This article focuses on the analysis of the structure of household expenditure in Slovakia from 2008 to 2012. The main objective is to detect the new underlying hypothetical variables (principal components) and by means of which a group of interrelated expenditure items can be identified. A complementary objective is to record the basic differences in the structure and development of net monetary expenditures in the households of the SR for the reference years. In a simple way, our goal can be formulated as mapping the Slovak consumer expenditures while the extent and typical consumption of the population is affected mostly by the financial health of households.
