Abstract

The article provides an overview of the basic indicators of labour market development in Slovakia with an emphasis on participation. From this, subsequent conclusions have been drawn for the development of the unemployment rate and participation for the upcoming quarters.. We utilise Labour Force Survey (LFS) data and we will also compare the labour market developments with the other V4 countries. We look in more detail at the structure of the increase of economic inactivity in the 1st half of 2020, some of which can be considered temporary. Probably in a short time, these inhabitants will return to the category of economic activity, initially with a subdued performance of economy especially to unemployment.
