Abstract

Reduction of the population growth and population ageing are considered the major demographic trends in the next decades. While the development of the number and population growth has no clear future trend, population ageing is irreversible for the next decade. The intensity of population ageing remains open and will depend crucially on the fertility development. Forecasting scenarios presented in the article quantify the possible development of the age structure of the population by 2060 depending on different scenarios of reproductive behavior.
