Abstract

The massive increase in computing power in the second half of the 20th century and the emergence of new modern technologies in the early 21st century have
significantly influenced the development of statistical modelling methodology. From humble beginnings in agriculture, applications of statistical modelling, and in particular linear models, have become fundamental in many areas of science and research. Over the course of several decades, statistical model methodology has evolved into general data science analytical procedures and forms the core of modern statistical analytical methods. At the forefront of the development and implementation of these methods is the SAS software system, which enables these findings to be used in real practice already in its basic modules. Although the SAS system is equipped with many functionalities that correspond to the current state of statistical science, it is not very widespread in our conditions, mainly due to its higher purchase price. Therefore, the aim of this article is to present some of the capabilities of this software in the field of statistic modelling, which remain hidden to many analysts.
