Abstract
The contribution deals with the issue of unpaid work in Slovak households. The primary survey was led by the research team of the Faculty of Economics, Matej Bel University, according to the Eurostat methodology, containing data on individual unpaid work activities. In the first part of the paper, readers may find description of the data sources, definition of unpaid work and the description of activities, that could be considered as unpaid work. In the next part, the authors present the analysis results of unpaid work from the perspective of gender differences, non-economic and geographic aspects of unpaid work. The paper also contains the description of the applied method of calculating the value of unpaid work as well as its share in GDP in 2012.
