Abstract

The completed cohort fertility of women in Slovakia is characterized by a continuous decline in the average number of children born.This trend can also be identified at the regional level. The question remains what is the role of intergenerational and spatiall differences in the development of parity progression ratios in this process.The aim of the article is to identify the influence of changes in the parity progression ratios on the change of completed cohort fertility, among selected cohorts of women in the districts of Slovakia by means of a selected decomposition technique.
