Abstract

Over the last quarter century, the postponement of the reproductive intentions into higher ages is one of the main characteristics of the fertility transition in the V4 countries. The postponement of fertility is closely linked to the low level of crosssectional fertility indicators. The V4 countries due to changes in timing of fertility around the late 90s and over the first decade of the 21st century belonged to the populations with the lowest intensity of fertility in the world. The main object of this paper is to analyze the changes in the intensity and nature of the fertility of the V4 countries in connection with the postponement and recuperation process.
