Abstract

There are long-standing and significant regional differences in the development of fertility in Slovakia. The contribution focuses on the distribution of women according to the number of live-born children in selected generations of women in the districts of Slovakia. The results enable to monitor the change in reproductive intentions and strategies of women or families in the individual regions of Slovakia during the last 70 years. Regional differences in the reproductive behavior of the population serve as important information in designing population measures.
