Abstract

The main objective of this paper is to indicate the risks of using the EU SILC and the EHIS sample surveys in assessing of the health status on the example of Slovakia. We analyze the position of Slovakia in the European area in terms of health status in conjunction with the level of mortality. The differences in the values of the healthy life years are decomposed by the factor of mortality and health status.
