Abstract

Flash estimates of gross domestic product (GDP) are a standard and integral part of officially available statistical information in developed countries. Model tools are supportively used for their compilation which objectifies the results of flash estimates. In our country, the compilation of flash estimates of GDP began to be addressed in connection with the accession of the Slovak Republic to the EU in 2004 and their preparation is in the competence of the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic (SO SR). In the sector of SO SR, INFOSTAT deals with the compilation of flash estimates of GDP with the support of model tools. This article contains the methodology and gained experience from their compilation.
