Abstract

This paper presents the Distributional Wealth Accounts statistics, which link micro and macro data on household assets and liabilities. The source of micro data is the Household Finance and Consumption Survey and the source of macro data is the Financial Accounts for the Household Sector. This paper summarises the main initiatives that led to a focus on information on the economic sources of households and their distribution. We present the development of the project, published experimental data and its possible future expansion.
