Abstract
The situation in health status of the European population is a discussed topic among the European policies because it affects national economies. For instance, within the Health 2020 strategy, the goals leading to the improvement of health status and reducing of inequalities in this area are determined among the other things. The main objective of this article is to assess the health status and its inequalities within the member states of the EU (EU-28) by multivariate statistical methods. These methods are able to assess health status in the EU-28 countries and reveal its inequalities based on the appropriately selected health status indicators obtained from Eurostat, OECD and the WHO databases.
