Abstract

Families are the most natural social communities of the population. Almost every one of us was born into a family, grew up in it, and subsequently founded our own family. Family collectivities fulfill a number of important functions: reproductive, economic, emotional, socializing, protective, or educational. It is no coincidence that families are often referred to as the cornerstone of society. The phenomenon of family behavior is therefore in the focus of demographers, sociologists, and the general public. Therefore, data on changes in family behavior, household structures, or the number of children in and outside families are among the most reflected in scientific and social discourse. The aim of this paper is to examine the possibility of creating census households exclusively from administrative data sources and to answer the question of whether it is still necessary to obtain this information directly from the residents once every ten years from the national census.
