Transport is one of the key sources of greenhouse gas emissions and air pollution. Therefore, it is necessary to focus on the most accurate estimation of greenhouse gases (GHG) and air pollutants (AP) in this sector. Accurate estimation of emissions must be based on quality input data. Statistical data on the use of petrol, diesel oil and biofuels are key input data in the transport sector, When compiling annual reports on the emissions and comparing data, there were discrepancies between statistically reported data by different organizations. Datasets of the years 2014 \u2013 2018 were used for this analysis. The analysis revealed that there are three main data sources in Slovakia – the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic (\u0160\u00da SR), the Financial Administration of the Slovak Republic (FR SR) and the Department of Air Protection of the Ministry of the Environment of the Slovak Republic (M\u017dP SR). Each source has its own methodology, different fuel labelling (e.g. CN codes) and different reporting dates. The \u0160\u00da SR uses data on import\/export and refinery oil production. The FR S R uses data based on tax returns from sales of petroleum products and from excise taxes on sales of biofuels and the Ministry of Environment uses data from the National emission inventory system (NEIS).<\/p>\n
